Tel Baan I

Series Vivaah “Vivaah”, a hindi word meaning, “Marriage”. 24th December, 2023, is the date I got married. In an Indian society, “marriage” is almost like a festival. Indians celebrate it with different kinds of rituals and ceremonies, which involves a lot of dancing, drinking, spending time with family and friends, and a lot of food. This series is very special to me. All of the artworks were made, in my new studio, in my new home. In India, the bride permanently shifts in with the groom and his family. Being in a new space, I was initially a little worried, regarding how would the change of space take a toll on me and moreover on my art.. But somehow the new change of space, made me feel connected to my art even more.
